Michelle's May Scrapbook Layout of the Month

I know I just uploaded April's scrapbook layout of the month but I need to upload May's as well.  Because if I don't I just may forget.  hehehe  I just finished this scrapbook page in the nick of time......my May club is next weekend.  Yikes I best getting to cutting the supplies.  This scrapbook layout is another Scrapbook Lounge Scrapbooking Page Planners.....it is Layout #5 called 12" x 12" Freestyle.  To go with my bow tieing and Shimmer Paint technique theme for my May Club you will see I have incorporated both of those techniques on this scrapbook page.  If you look at the small Melon Mambo 1/2" Circle you will see that is has been stamp with Frost Shimmer Paint.  The bow tied just under the journaling of the scrapbook page is a "classic" bow and the stamp on the left side of the right scrapbook page layout has a mixture of Frost Shimmer Paint and Melon Mambo Re-Inker.

This double page scrapbook layout was so much fun to make.  This page has some of my fondest memories on it.  My daughter sharing something that I love.  Not only do I love card making and scrapbooking but I have a green thumb as well.

Michelle's April Scrapbook Layout of the Month

I forgot to upload this last month....opps!  These 2 scrapbook pages were a lot of fun to make.  I had a really hard time deciding on the colors.  Just ask my friend Wendy.  She had the joys of talking to me while I was ranting off color combos.  hehehe Thanks Wendy.  This is the same scrapbook layout I demonstrated at my Club get together in April.  We are currently using all of the in-colors and it was time to use Dusty Durango.  The way the Dusty Durango and Bermuda Bay looked did not appeal to me one bit.....but after trying different things I thought I am just going to make it and see what it looks like all finished.....I was amazed and very pleased at how it turned out.  Yeah!  While I was making this page I felt a little sad as my baby is not a baby anymore.  He is 20 months now and the pictures on this page were taken at the beginning of the month.  He can do so many different things now and just loves life.  This is a page of great memories.

Shimmery Ice Cream

Here is the 3rd card that my Club Members will make for our May club.  As you can see the ice cream is all shimmery.  The idea for this came from the neat demonstration Winona did on the weCANstamp DVD I saw.  Thanks for this idea Winona.  Again to do this effect I added a drop of Frost Shimmer Paint to a couple of scribble lines of Stampin' Write Markers.......the Stampin' Write Marker colors I used were Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  The bow type on this card is a "tiered" bow.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Sweet Scoops (Summer Mini)
Paper: Sahara Sand card stock, Melon Mambo card stock, Rich Razzleberry card stock, Whisper White card stock
Ink: Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad, Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker, Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker, Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker

Vintage Vogue Tailored Bow

Here is another card using a different bow - this time I did what is called a "tailored" bow.  Too cute and so easy to do.

The technique on this card is a little different.  Instead of using some scribbles from a Stampin' Write Marker I used a drop of Rich Razzleberry re-inker.  You do exactly the same procedure.....put a drop of Frost Shimmer Paint in an old empty button or eyelet container and then add a drop of re-inker, mix and voila a pretty shimmery flower.  I received this technique on that same weCANstamp DVD demonstration done by Winona.  She also had a card on there similar to this one with the Vintage Vogue flowers.  When I saw that card I knew I had to do something like that for my May Club.  Here is card #2 for my Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Page.  I hope they have as much fun as I do making this card.

I think I may do a similar card but make all of the using the Frost Shimmer Paint and a drop of re-inker.  The results are more bold than the shimmer paint and marker mixture.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue (still available for purchase under the carry-over products)
Paper: Kraft card stock, Whisper White card stock, Rich Razzleberry card stock, Pretty in Pink card stock, So Saffron card stock
Ink: Pretty In Pink Classic Stampin' Pad, Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad, So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad, Rich Razzleberry Re-Inker, Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Clear Rhinestone

Life's Elements of Style Classic Bow

Yeah I have some new cards with new techniques to show you!  These cards were so much fun to make.  I made 3 different cards using different kinds of bows along with a technique using Shimmer Paint.  Shimmer Paint gives amazing results.  I love it.  The above card is 1 of the 3 cards that I will be demonstrating at my May Club.  The bow on this card is called a "classic" bow.  I usually tie knots on my cards when using ribbon but that just may change.  The classic bow is really easy to do.  I will put a Stampin' Up! video tutorial on my blog when I have a chance so that you can see just how easy it is to make.

Now for the shimmer paint technique part... I recently received a weCANstamp DVD from the Stampin' Up! Group that I below to and Winona who is part of this group did a demonstration on shimmer paint and Stampin' Write Markers.  This technique is so easy to do and you can get amazing results using it.  If you look really closely at my card you will see the flowers have a pink shimmer effect to them.  How I got this was I scribbled a couple of lines of Pretty In Pink Stampin' Write Marker in an empty button container then added a drop of Frost Shimmer Paint.  I mixed them both together grabbed my sponge dauber and dabbed the shimmer paint marker mixture on the flower part of the stamp.  I then went over the other part of the stamp with my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker and voila the above result.  So easy to do and soo pretty.  Thanks Winona for showing me that awesome technique.  Apparently Winona received that technique from Shannon West at one of the recent Stampin' Up! Regionals.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Elements of Style (Summer Mini)

School "Mini" Scrap Album - Project #2 - May Scrap & Card Camp

Now isn't this just the cutest little "mini" album you have ever seen?  I thought it was adorable.  This is Project #2 being offered at my May Scrap & Card Camp.  You will have a choice for project #2....to do either this school mini album or the birthday mini album.  Each one of them are too cute.  I didn't make a card version for this school mini album but there is a card version for the birthday mini album. The cost of this project is $10.00.

Here is a picture of the inside of the shool mini album.  My daughter did 2 years of preschool so that is why you see the first two pages have a zero as the grade.  Her school mini album goes up to grade 8.  I think she will love this when she is older.  It is a great keepsake.

Here is the card version of project #3 and the 3rd card being offered at my May 16 Scrap & Card Camp.  See it is really easy to convert a scrapbook project into a card.  I am really going to like using this stamp set - I can tell by the two projects I have already made with it.  The hummingbird adds such a nice touch.  The projects being offered at my May Scrap & Card Camp were inspired by a scrapbooking video I saw done by a Stampin' Up! office team member.

B Journal - Project #3 - May Scrap & Card Camp

Another way to scrapbook is to decorate the front of a journal.  This is one of Stampin' Up!'s 5" x 5" On Board Art Journals.  There are 20 sheets of Very Vanilla card stock on the inside.  This is the 3rd project being offered at my May 16 Scrap & Card camp.  You will have a choice of what letter you want to use.  The Elements of Style stamp set is going to become one of my favs very quickly.  I love the different background stamps it has.  The cost of this project is $15.00.  There are still some spots available in my May Scrap & Card Camp.  Come join us for some stamping fun!

My Husband and I are going to use this journal to write down little things about our daughter.  Her name is Brooke so that is why I put the "b" on the front.  The "b" is very shiny.  I couldn't get a picture of it without the shine.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Sticky letters along with Bermuda Blue card stock and micro beads.  It isn't that shiny in real life.  Not too sure if you can see the hummingbird in the top left corner - I used Stampin' Up!'s platinum shimmer paint to stamp it.  In real life it stands out.  I am going to make a more masculine one for our son to write down things about him.  I thought it would make a nice gift for them when they are older.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Element of Style (Summer Mini Catalogue)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay Textured card stock
Ink: Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Platinum Shimmer Paint
Accessories: On-Board 5" x 5" Art Journal, Sticky Letters, Micro Beads, Flower Designer Brads
